Seek and Find
Look
to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.
- Psalms 105:4
When feelings of discontentment, boredom,
dryness, frustration, confusion or even sadness arise, “look to the Lord”. You’ll
find when you stop and simply look up; it will get your eyes off yourself,
situation, and feelings and realign your focus, mind, and heart with God. “Your eyes are the lamp of the body. If
your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light” (Matthew 6:22). Looking
to God allows you to have God’s perspective and ability to live in his freedom.
You’re allowing the God of the universe to fill you up with his strength and
joy. Seek His face always. You must continuously pursue him. The word “must” is
used because there is an urgency to seek him. When you seek God…You find Him!
Some of the greatest advice I’ve ever received
from a devotional (Jesus Calling) was to whisper
His name as an act of faith. This act of faith draws you near to God and
readjusts your whole mindset and day! Seek God just as you are and right where
you stand. I have complete faith he will meet you. Not only do you discover
him… you experience his presence and his wholeness. As you’re being filled by
his glorious riches, you are being made like him. “I pray out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power
through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts
through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love,”
(Ephesians 3:16).When you look to the Lord and seek his face you are being
transformed. Not by anything you’ve done but by all that he has done!
